Stanislaus Speleological Association Membership in the Stanislaus Grotto is open to anyone interested in caves and caving, regardless of their age or ability. We expect all members to practice the concepts of safety in cave exploration, assistance in the conservation of caves, and support for the scientific study of caves. The Stanislaus Grotto is a local chapter, or grotto, of the National Speleological Society (NSS). All Stanislaus Grotto members are strongly encouraged to also join the NSS. Membership in the national society provides numerous benefits, including a monthly color publication, discounts at selected commercial caves around the country, access to selected sub-groups of the NSS (i.e., cave diving, cave photography, etc.) and a network of thousands of other cavers throughout the United States and the world. |
